Illini Drop First Of Year, Fall To Georgia Tech

(Atlanta, GA) -- Rayvonte Rice's 24 points were not enough as Illinois dropped its first game of the year in a 67-64 defeat to Georgia Tech last night.  Joseph Bertrand added 10 points and six rebounds for the Fighting Illini, who dipped to 7-1. The Illini face Auburn in Atlanta Sunday.

 

College Basketball Roundup

Elsewhere in local college hoops last night, Notre Dame dropped a 98-93 decision to Iowa in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tonight, Northwestern gets its turn in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge as the Wildcats take on NC State in Raleigh. DePaul hosts Arizona State on Friday.

 

Duke Whoops Michigan

(Durham, NC) -- Quinn Cook scored all of his 24 points in the second half and also had nine assists to lead Duke to a 79-69 win over Michigan at Cameron Indoor Stadium as a part of the Big 10-ACC Challenge. Freshman sensation Jabari Parker added 15 points and six rebounds for the Blue Devils, who improved to 7-2. Duke held Nik Stauskus to four points on four free throws with no makes from the field on two shots. Caris LeVert posted 24 points in the loss.  Michigan fell to 5-3.
