Jazz Slip By Bulls In OT

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Gordon Hayward posted 15 points and dished out 12 assists to help the Jazz trudge past the Bulls, 89-83, in OT in Salt Lake City.  Richard Jefferson added 15 points as Utah picked up its second win in 16 tries. Marvin Williams scored a team-high 17 points for the Jazz. Carlos Boozer had a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds, while Luol Deng added 24 points and 10 boards. Chicago fell to 0-2 without Derrick Rose. They are 6-7 on the season with all seven losses away from home.

The season is over for Bulls point guard Derrick Rose.  The 25-year-old had surgery yesterday to repair the medial meniscus in his right knee at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.  The surgery was performed by the same doctor that repaired Rose's ACL in May 2012.


Celtics Hold Off Bobcats

(Charlotte, NC) -- The Celtics beat the Bobcats, 96-86, keyed by a 33-point second quarter. Jordan Crawford led the way with 21 points, five assists and four rebounds. Crawford drained four three-pointers.  Brandon Bass added 16 points, while Gerald Wallace put up 17 off the bench. Boston improved to 6-10. Kemba Walker scored a game-high 28 points with six boards and five helpers in the loss. Gerald Henderson chipped in 20 points and Al Jefferson was the only other Charlotte player in double figures with 14. The Bobcats are 7-8.


Pacers Work T'Wolves

(Indianapolis, IN) -- The Pacers outscored the Timberwolves by nine in the fourth quarter to close out a 98-84 win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. George Hill and Paul George each posted 26 points and combined to hit seven of eight from behind the arc. Indiana held Minnesota to 32-percent shooting and forced the Wolves into 19 turnovers. The Pacers are 13-and-1 including victories in their first eight at home. Kevin Love scored 20 points with 17 rebounds, but was 6-of-20 from the field. Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic added 18 points apiece. Minnesota fell to .500 at 8-8.


Pistons Dump Bucks

(Auburn Hills, MI) -- Seven players were in double figures as the Pistons romped the Bucks, 113-94, at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Brandon Jennings posted a double-double with 15 points, 13 assists and he drained four from deep against his former team. Rodney Stuckey scored a game-high 17 points off the bench for Detroit, which is 6-8. John Henson posted 15 points, seven rebounds in the loss. Gary Neal and Kris Middleton each tallied 14 points.  The Bucks were held to 24 points in the first half. Milwaukee has lost nine straight to fall to 2-11.


Heat Cruise Past Suns

(Miami, FL) -- LeBron James went off for 35 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead the Heat to a 107-92 romp of the Suns at AmericanAirlines Arena.  Miami was only up by three after halftime, but outscored Phoenix by 12 in the second half.  Dwyane Wade hit 9-of-13 shots on his way to 21 points, 12 assists and six rebounds.  Miami is 11-3. Goran Dragic just missed out on a triple-double in the loss with 14 points, nine helpers and eight boards.  Phoenix was only 8-of-32 from behind the arc as they fell to .500 at 7-7. Four of the eight threes were from Channing Frye, who tallied 16 points and eight rebounds.


Rockets Use Huge Fourth To Down Grizz

(Memphis, TN) -- The Rockets outscored the Grizzlies by 15 in the fourth quarter en route to a 93-86 win at FedExForum. Chandler Parsons led a balanced effort with 17 points, while Omri Casspi added 16 off the bench for Houston, which has won five of its last six games. Dwight Howard had 15 points and seven rebounds and Jeremy Lin scored 14 points in the victory. Tayshaun Prince posted 16 points and Tony Allen had 15 to go with six steals for the Grizz, who have dropped two in-a-row after a four-game winning streak.  Zach Randolph donated 13 points and six boards in defeat.

 

Nuggets Sweep Home-And-Home With Mavs

(Dallas, TX) -- J.J. Hickson recorded 22 points and eight rebounds as the Nuggets topped the Mavericks 110-96 to sweep the home-and-home series at American Airlines Center. Ty Lawson posted 19 points and 11 assists, while Nate Robinson added 17 points off the bench for Denver, which improved to 7-6 with its third straight win. Kenneth Faried had 10 points and as many boards in the victory. Monta Ellis scored 22 points and Dirk Nowitzki 18 for the Mavs, who have lost two in-a-row after a four-game winning streak. Shawn Marion chipped in with 13 points and 12 boards in defeat.


Streaking Trail Blazers Handle Knicks

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers posted a 34-point first quarter and went on to a 102-91 win over the Knicks in Portland. Nicolas Batum had 23 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Damian Lillard added 23 points of his own and dished six dimes. LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points with 14 rebounds as the Blazers won their 11th straight game to move to 13-2. Carmelo Anthony posted a game-high 34 points on 13-of-25 shooting while grabbing 15 rebounds for New York.  Andrea Bargnani had 16 points and six boards as the Knicks lost their sixth straight game and sit at 3-10.
