Bulldogs Down Maroons in Season Opener for Both

The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs posted a season-opening win over the Dieterich Lady Maroons Tuesday, 54-38 at Dieterich.

The game stood 12-12 after one quarter before St. Anthony outscored Dieterich 20-10 in the second period to lead 32-22 at halftime.  The Bulldogs outscored Dieterich 11-6 in the third period to take a 43-28 advantage and edged Dieterich 11-10 in the final stanza.

Kate Richards led St. Anthony in scoring with 17 points while Megan Nuxoll posted a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds to go along with three steals.  Courtney Flach led Dieterich with 14 points.  It was also the season-opener for Dieterich.

St. Anthony won the JV game 46-13.
