Sixers Edge Rockets in OT

(Philadelphia, PA) -- James Anderson posted a career-high 36 points to power the 76ers to a 123-117 overtime win against the Rockets at the Wells Fargo Center. Anderson hit the game-tying three-pointer with under seven seconds left in regulation to send the game to OT. He was 12-of-16 from the floor and 6-for-8 from three-point range.  Tony Wroten started in place of the injured Michael Carter-Williams and had a triple-double with 18 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for Philadelphia, which improved to 5-4.  Jeremy Lin tallied 34 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including nine three-pointers. He added 12 assists for Houston, which was without James Harden as it fell to 5-4. Dwight Howard and Terrence Jones also had double-doubles in the setback. Howard posted 23 points, 15 boards and six blocks while Jones chipped in with 10 points and 11 caroms.

 

Magic Hold Off Bucks

(Orlando, FL) -- Arron Afflalo blew up for a career-high 36 points with eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Magic to a 94-91 win over the Bucks at the Amway Center.  Afflalo hit eight of Orlando's nine threes. Nikola Vucevic posted 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Maurice Harkless added 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. The Magic are 4-5. O.J. Mayo tallied a team-high 25 points with seven rebounds in the loss. Khris Middleton contributed 19 points, eight rebounds and for assists for Milwaukee, which led by as much as 19 in the first half. The Bucks fell to 2-5.

 

Bobcats Beat Celtics In Boston

(Boston, MA) -- Al Jefferson racked up 22 points and 11 rebounds as the Bobcats beat the Celtics 89-83 at TD Garden.  Gerald Henderson added 13 points, while Jeff Taylor tallied 12 off the bench for Charlotte, which evened its record at 4-4. Anthony Tolliver had 11 points and Ramon Sessions scored 10 in the victory. Jeff Green netted 19 points to pace the Celtics, who had their four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 4-5. Jordan Crawford chipped in with 16 points in the setback.

 

T'wolves Maul Cavs

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Kevin Love tallied 33 points, eight rebounds and six assists to power the Timberwolves to a 124-95 win over the Cavaliers at the Target Center.  Ricky Rubio posted a career-high 16 assists to go with 16 points and six rebounds for Minnesota, which improved to 6-3. Corey Brewer chipped in with a career-high 27 points in the win. Kyrie Irving scored a team-best 20 points for Cleveland, which dipped to 3-6 with all the losses on the road. The Cavs were held to just over 41-percent shooting from the floor while Minnesota was at 55-percent.

 

Knicks Sink Hawks

(Atlanta, GA) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points and grabbed four rebounds as the Knicks clipped the Hawks, 95-91, at Philips Arena. Andrea Bargnani tallied a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. New York hit 12 three's and only turned the ball over six times on its way to 3-4. Jeff Teague filled it up with 25 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Al Horford added 23 points for the Hawks, who are 4-4. Atlanta was 5-of-24 from behind the arc.

 

Spurs Dump Wizards

(San Antonio, TX) -- The Spurs used a balanced scoring effort to cruise past the Wizards, 92-79, at the AT&T Center. Tony Parker led six San Antonio players in double figures with 16 points, while Boris Diaw chipped in with 15 off the bench. The Spurs scored 52 points in the paint as they improved to 8-1 with their sixth straight win.  San Antonio has won its last three games by an average of 23 points per game.  Martell Webster paced Washington with 21 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Bradley Beal contributed 19 points, while John Wall collected 14 points, but he shot 5-of-19 from the field. The Wizards are 2-6.


Nuggets Run Past Lakers

(Denver, CO) -- The Nuggets outscored the Lakers by eight in the fourth quarter to pull out a 111-99 win at the Pepsi Center. Timofey Mozgov led the way with 23 points and nine rebounds off the bench, while Kenneth Faried tallied 21 points and 13 boards. Ty Lawson helped out with 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds for Denver, which won its second straight game to move to 3-4. Jordan Hill posted a second consecutive double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds in the loss. Pau Gasol tallied 25 points and 12 boards. Los Angeles has dropped three-of-four and is 4-6.


Kings Smoke Nets

(Sacramento, CA) -- The Kings crushed the Nets, 107-86, at Sleep Train Arena behind 24 points off the bench from Marcus Thornton. Greivis Vasquez dished out 12 assists along with 17 points. Isaiah Thomas tallied 19 points, six rebounds and six assists for Sacramento, which picked up its second win in seven tries. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson combined to shoot 14-of-44 from the field in the loss.  Brook Lopez posted 16 points and nine rebounds with five blocks as Brooklyn dropped to 2-5. The Nets are 0-4 on the road.

 

Blazers Slip Past Suns

(Portland, OR) -- Damian Lillard's basket with six-seconds left lifted the Trail Blazers to a 90-89 win over the Suns at the Moda Center. Robin Lopez racked up 13 points and 15 rebounds against his former team, while LaMarcus Aldridge added 12 points and as many boards for the Blazers, who improved to 6-and-2 with their fourth straight win. Thomas Robinson posted 15 points and eight boards off the bench and Lillard ended with 11 points and eight assists in the victory.  The Suns had a chance at the end, but missed three close attempts including a missed tip-in at the buzzer. Eric Bledsoe scored a game-high 23 points for Phoenix, which slipped to 5-3. Gerald Green chipped in with 17 points off the pine and Goran Dragic had 14 in defeat.


Clippers Blow Past Thunder

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Clippers outscored the Thunder by 17 points in the second half to pull out a 111-103 win at the STAPLES Center. The game turned right before halftime when Oklahoma City forward Serge Ibaka and Los Angeles forward Matt Barnes were both ejected for their involvement in a scrum. Blake Griffin paced LA with 22 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, while Chris Paul dished out 16 assists with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jamal Crawford added 20 points off the bench as the Clippers improved to 6-3. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 33 points with 10 assists and six rebounds.  Russell Westbrook chipped in 19 points and 10 dimes, but turned the ball over five times. The Thunder lost for only the second time in seven games.

 

Grizz Fall To Raptors

(Memphis, TN) -- The Grizzlies struggles continued as they fell to the Raptors, 103-87, at the FedExForum. Former Grizzly Rudy Gay scored 23 points with six rebounds, four assists and five steals. Mike Conley posted a game-high 29 points in the loss. Memphis has dropped three-of-four to fall to 3-5. The Grizz are at the Lakers Friday.

 

Jazz Wins First Game Of Season

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Gordon Hayward tallied 27 points and a career-high 10 assists and Diante Garrett played a pivotal role in his Utah debut as the Jazz won their first  game of the season, 111-105, over the New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday. Utah, which  trailed by 10 points at halftime and as many as 16 early in the third quarter, battled back to tie the score at 70-70  with a 10-0 surge late in the third.
