CASEY -- The Effingham Junior High School girls basketball team downed Casey-Westfield in two games Monday evening.

The Mustangs took a 26-0 first half lead before Casey-Westfield ever scored. Effingham went on for a 36-5 win in seventh-grade action. Weis tallied nine and Fox eight for the winners who improve to 12-1.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham broke a 17-17 halftime tie with a 14-4 third quarter run and held on for a 34-28 victory. Myers scored 14 and Armstrong 12 as Effingham is now 11-2.

At Windsor

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor split victories with Okaw Valley Monday evening.

Stew-Stras/Windsor won the seventh-grade contest 28-6. Schlechte tallied 14 and K. Davis 10 in the win as the team improved to 11-4.

In eighth-grade action, Okaw Valley held a 15-0 first half lead and claimed a 29-9 win. Stew-Stras/Windsor was led by K. Davis with five points as the team dropped to 1-12.

At Altamont

Teutopolis came calling and split wins with Altamont Monday evening.

T-town won the seventh-grade game 17-12. Morgan Mette led the Wooden Booties with five points. Altamont was led by Schutlz with six. T-town improves to 10-2.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont claimed a 36-19 win. Altamont held a 23-5 halftime lead and never looked back. Stone tallied 21 for the winners. T-town was led by Marianna Hemmen and Macy Michaels with six each. T-town drops to 6-6.

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick dropped both losses to Sullivan Monday evening.

In seventh-grade play, Sullivan was a 24-17 winner. BCCH drops to 9-4 overall. Lauren Wojcik led BCCH with six points.

In eighth-grade action, Sullivan was a 32-12 winner. BCCH was led by Erica Lorton and Amanda Smith with four points each. BCCH falls to 2-10.

Jasper County came calling and claimed two wins over Dieterich. Jasper County won the seventh-grade game 29-12. Dieterich was led by Andrea Bierman with seven points. Jasper County was led by Allison Harris and Mallory Bergbower with nine points each.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County won 37-30. Dieterich was led by Lauren Garbe with 15 and Anna Shadle with 11. Abby Frohning tallied 10 for Jasper County.
