Several area basketball players were named to First and Second teams along with Honorable Mention for the girls Class 1A, 2A and 3A.
Effingham St. Anthony's Nancy Ruholl, a junior guard, was named to the Class 1A Second Team. Her statistics are as follows: 22 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 3.5 spg, 4 spg. Shot 48% FG, 80% FT. Helped team go 28-5 and reach sectional final. Conference MVP. National Trail tourney MVP. All-tourney at Robinson, Coles County. IBCA 2nd team All-State last year. Career: 1,500+ points (all-time scoring leader for girls and boys at school).
Honorable Mention went to Dayana Haslett, a sophomore guard from Brownstown-St. Elmo. Her statistics are 22.6 ppg, 4 rpg, 2.4 apg, 5.1 spg. All-conference. All-tourney at Pana, Dieterich, National Trail Conference. IBCA 2nd team All-State. IBCA 3rd team All-State last year. Career: 1,000+ points.
In Class 2A, Honorable Mention went to Chloe Probst, Teutopolis, 6 (15.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.4 spg. Shot 40% FG. Helped team go 26-9, reach sectional final. All-tourney at Paris, Coles County. IBCA 3rd team All-State. IBCA SM All-State last year. Career: 1,000+ points.)
