T-town, St. Anthony, Altamont, North Clay, Newton, WSS Win In Weekend Boys Basketball Play

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 17-14 opening quarter lead behnd five points from Mick Niebrugge and four from Alex Kremer and Brody Thoele.
The lead moved to 29-23 at halftime. Niebrugge put in four points and Gavin Addis hit a three-pointer.
The Shoes held a 39-30 lead after three quarters. Niebrugge added six more points to his total.
Addis tacked on seven more points in the final period and Henry Thompson hit a three.
Niebrugge finished with 18 points on seven field goals and four of five at the line. Also in double digits was Addis with two regular baskets and two three-pointers for 12. NIebrugge also led in rebounds with six and had three steals and one assist.
Thoele finished with eight points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists. Drew Hoene finished with five rebounds and Kremer added four rebounds.
Olney was led by Arjay Keller with 27 points on 10 field goals and seven of seven at the line.
Teutopolis improved to 20-10 on the season.
In the junior high contest, the Wooden Shoes claimed an 80-39 win. Seventeen players scored in the contest for the Shoes led by Davin Worman with 16 points.

At Effingham
Effingham St. Anthony played host to Robinson and captured a 77-41 victory Friday evening.
A big second quarter put this game in the victory column early.
Ryan Schmidt connected for seven points in the opening quarter as the Bulldogs moved into a 19-12 lead. Schmidt hit two regular baskets and a three-pointer. Meanwhile Brock Fearday chipped in with five and Samuel Link four.
Then the Bulldogs went into high gear with a 32-9 second quarter. Schmidt, B. Fearday and Miles Waldhoff scored seven points each for the Bulldogs while Link added five more and Keenan Griffith and Will Fearday nailed a three-pointer each.
That run pushed the Bulldogs into a 51-21 halftime lead.
B. Fearday continued on with eight points in the third quarter run behind a regular basket and two from beyond the arc and St. Anthony led 67-31 going into the final quarter.
The Bulldogs connected on 12 three-pointers in the contest led by B. Fearday with three.
Four players hit double figures for the Bulldogs. B. Fearday led the way with 20 points on eight field goals, three of those trifectas, and one of two at the line. Schmidt added 14 while Waldhoff and Link finished with 11 each.
In the junior varsity contest, St. Anthony was an 83-46 winner. Miles Waldhoff led with 21 points for the Bulldogs while Luis Gonzalez added 13 and Connor Storm 11.

At Altamont
Altamont's Kade Milleville, Cooper McManaway and Ben Roedl got their team off in the right direction in the opening quarter with a 21-15 run and went on for a 60-49 victory over Marshall Friday evening.
Milleville hit a three-pointer and two regular baskets for seven while McMananway added six and Roedl five. Parker Bell also aided the cause with a three-pointer.
The lead stood at 33-27 at halftime. Milleville added to his total with six points in the second period.
Marshall came back with a 22-21 second half.
Milleville scored 19 points on six field goals, two of those three-pointers, and five of five at the line. Zaine Miller added 12 points, all in the second half on three from beyond the arc and three of four at the line. McManaway added 10.
Altamont improved to 18-12.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) handed South Central a 71-58 loss in Friday play.
The Cougars stepped out to a 20-15 opening quarter lead as Callaway Smith and Westin Neilson hit two three-pointers each.
But North Clay started to edge back with a 19-17 second period as Cody Zimdars scored 10 of his team's 19 points on four baskets and a free throw.
The Cougars were led by C. Smith and Brody Markley with two three-pointers each in the second quarter.
North Clay then had an 18-14 third period to pull ahead 52-51. Kade Atwood scored five points and Zimdars led with seven.
The Cardinals finished out strong with a 19-7 final quarter run. Atwood added on five more points and Zimdars seven.
Zimdars finished with 24 points on 10 field goals, three from beyond the arc, and one of two at the line. Mason Byers added 17 and Atwood 15.
Norht Clay improved to 6-2 in the National Trail Conference and 22-9 overall during its Senior Night festivities.
South Central won the junior varsity game, 41-40.
South Central was led by Seth Bergmann with 15 points on six field goals and three of four at the line. Neilson added 13, C. Smith 12 and Markley 10.

Newton High School handed Flora a 45-36 loss in Friday evening action.
The Eagles took an 11-8 opening quarter lead as Hayden Mulvey scored five and Kody Bergbower four.
The lead went to 22-14 at halftime. Lance Volk knocked in two three-pointers while Bergbower hit a three and was two of two at the line.
Newton continued on with a 10-6 third quarter as Volk scored a third three-pointer and Mulvey put in four.
Flora came back with a 16-13 final quarter but trailed 32-20 going into that period.
Newton was led by Volk with 15 points on six field goals, half of those three-pointers. Bergbower added 13 on five field goals and two of two at the line. Mulvey tallied nine.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged out to a 13-8 opening quarter lead on St. Elmo/Brownstown and went on for a 62-37 win Saturday.
The Hatchets had three players hit double figures. Aiden Sayers and Jackson Gurgel led the way for the winners with 14 points each. Sayers hit five field goals, two of those three-pointers, and was two of two at the line. Gurgel scored on four field goals, one a three-pointer, and was five of five at the line. Brody Bible added 10 points.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Jack Wilhour with 14 points on five field goals, one from three-point range, and three of three at the line.
Windsor/Stew-Stras finished 4-4 in the National Trail Comference and is 17-13 overall.
St. Elmo/Brownstown finished 1-7 in the NTC and is 13-17 overall.
St. Elmo/Brownstown claimed the junior varsity game, 54-45.
