EHS, Windsor/Stew-Stras Win, BSE Falls In Girls Basketball

The Hearts got on a tear behind five players scoring in the opening quarter. Bria Beals hit a three-pointer and a free throw for four while Tessa Raddatz and Averie Wolfe also connected from beyond the arc. Bella Austin hit two baskets for four and Alyssa Martin added a basket and a free throw for three points in the quarter.
The lead went to 43-7 at halftime. Wolfe contributed seven points while Sidney Donaldson and Austin scored on three baskets for six each. Raddatz added another three-pointer.
The Hearts finished out with a 27-10 second half. Raddatz added two more three-pointers in the final quarter while Hayes put in one from beyond the arc in both the third and fourth quarters.
Coach Jeff Schafer's squad had five players in double figures. Raddatz hit four three-pointers for 12 points while Wolf connected on two three-pointers and three regular baskets, also for 12.
Martin, Donaldson and Austin all finished with 10 points each.
EHS improved to 21-7 on the season.
Effingam also claimed the junior varsity contest, 48-13. The Hearts were led by Maci Hayes with 17 points and Drew Weis with 10.

At Nokomis
Brownstown/St. Elmo traveled to Nokomis and fell to the homestanding team, 52-36 Tuesday evening.
Nokomis held a 13-8 opening quarter lead. BSE came back with a 14-12 second period run behind Dayana Haslett's eight points and four by Madi Miller to pull within 25-22.
But Nokomis went on an 11-5 third quarter run and finished with a 14-9 final period.
Haslett was the lone player for the Bombers in double figures with six field goals, one a three-pointer, and three of four at the line for 16. Miller finished with nine.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg picked up its sixth straight victory with a 50-47 win over Meridian Tuesday evening.
The Hatchets are 19-6 on the season.
Windsor/Stew-Stras will be back in action Thursday hosting North Clay beginning at 6 p.m.
