No. 1 Hillsboro claimed the opening contest over Ramsey, 86-27.
The Hiltoppers put this game away in the opening quarter with a 29-2 run as N. Matoush scored 15 of his team's points.
Matoush finished with 26 for the contest while T. White added 21 and J. Tuetken 13.
In the second contest, Cumberland handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 67-46 loss as the No. 4 and 5 teams met.
The Pirates went on a three-point run, connecting on eight for the contest and getting off in the right direction with three in the opening 20-15 run.
Chase Stewart hit two and Cameron Roedl a regular basket and a three-pointer.
The lead went to 36-25 at halftime as Stewart put in another three-pointer and Reed Miller hit for five points.
The Pirates came out with an 18-9 third period run and went on for the 21-point win.
Four players hit double digits for the Pirates. Miller finished with seven field goals, two from three-point range, and four of seven at the line for 20. Roedl connected for 16 while Zack Harmon added 14 and Stewart 12.
The Bobcats were led by Wyatt Rueff with 11 on four field goals, two from three-point land, and one of two at the line. AJ Radloff finished with 10.
Hillsboro and Cumberland will meet Thursday at 7:45 p.m. in winner bracket action while CHBC and Ramsey square off at 6:15 in the consolation bracket.
The tournament opening round games continue tonight as Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg takes on Mulberry Grove at 6:15 and St. Elmo/Brownstown faces Patoka/Odin at 7:45.
