Pacers Steal Game One From Knicks

(New York, NY) -- David West scored 20 points and Paul George had 19 as the Pacers stole Game One from the Knicks with a 102-95 victory at Madison Square Garden.  West says they played with poise.

D.J. Augustin added 16 points off the bench while Lance Stephenson posted 11 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana, which takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series. Roy Hibbert notched 14 points, eight boards and five blocks and George Hill also chipped in with 14 points in the victory. Carmelo Anthony recorded 27 points and 11 boards to pace the Knicks, who host Game Two on Tuesday. Raymond Felton netted 18 points and J.R. Smith donated 17 off the bench in defeat.

 

James Officially Named NBA's MVP

Heat forward LeBron James has officially been named the NBA's Most Valuable Player. It's the fourth time James has won the award.  He becomes the fifth player to win four MVP's, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. The Thunder's Kevin Durant was second while the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony was third.

 

Pacers, Thunder Get Game One Wins

The Thunder got their conference semifinal series off to a great start Sunday. The Thunder held homecourt by edging the Grizzlies, 93-91. OKC maintains a 1-0 lead in that set.

 

Nets Won't Bring Carlesimo Back As Coach

(Brooklyn, NY) -- The Brooklyn Nets are searching for a new head coach. After being knocked out of the playoffs on Saturday with a Game Seven loss to the Bulls, the Nets announced they won't bring back P.J. Carlesimo.  Carlesimo replaced Avery Johnson in late December and led the Nets to a 35-19 record over the final 54 games of the season.
