Celtics Punk Knicks In Game Six

(New York, NY) -- After falling behind 3-0, the Celtics have fought back to make their first round series with the Knicks 3-2 with a 92-86 win behind 16 points, 18 rebounds and five assists from Kevin Garnett. Paul Pierce also tallied 16 points, while Jeff Green contributed 18 including two key three pointers late in the fourth quarter. Boston hit 11-of-22 from the three-point line and connected on all 17 of its free throws.  Garnett says they still aren't in a good position in the series.

 

Rockets Roll To Game Five Win

(Oklahoma City, OK) -- James Harden poured in 31 points and hauled in eight rebounds as the Rockets defeated the Thunder, 107-100, in Game Five of their Western Conference quarterfinals series. Harden was 10-for-16 from the floor, including 7-of-9 from three-point range. Harden says they can't look at the big picture of trying to overcome a 3-0 deficit.

 

Blazers' Lillard Named Rookie Of The Year

(New York, NY) -- Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is the NBA's Rookie of the Year. Lillard was a unanimous selection, earning 605 points and all 121 first-place votes. He averaged 19 points and 6.5 assists while playing in all 82 games this season. New Orleans' Anthony Davis finished second with 306 points and Washington's Bradley Beal was a distant third with 94 points.

 

Bucks Fire Head Coach Boylan

(Milwaukee, WI  -- Jim Boylan was removed from his duties as the interim head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks yesterday. Milwaukee finished eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 38-44 record. The Bucks were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Miami Heat.  Boylan was promoted to interim coach on January 8th after the Bucks and Scott Skiles agreed to part ways.
