The National Basketball Association announced Wednesday that Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob was fined $50,000 for violating the anti-tampering rule with comment about Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons.

Lacob cast doubt in a ‘San Francisco Chronicle’ interview on the team being interested in Simmons, who wants out from the 76ers, saying, “The problem is: We have Draymond (Green). Draymond and him are very similar in the sense that neither one really shoots and they do a lot of the playmaking. That’s one issue. The salary structure is another.”
