In the opener, Effingham Sacred Heart defeated Windsor, 42-29.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won over North Clay (Louisville), 41-34. CHBC edged out to an 11-10 opening quarter lead and led 23-18 at halftime.
Zander Merrifield led the winners with 11 points. Dawkins led North Clay with 18.
Stewardson-Strasburg then defeated Altamont, 30-23.
South Central finished out the day with a 44-13 win over Neoga.
The tournament continues today as Sigel St. Michael takes on Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m. followed by St. Elmo/Brownstown against Stewardson-Strasburg at 6:45 and Dieterich taking on South Central at 8.

At Casey
Casey-Westfield picked up two victories over Effingham in Saturday competition.
Casey-Westfield claimed the sevneth-grade contest, 42-24. Casey-Westfield held a 19-14 halftime lead.
Effingham was led by Flack with 10 points.
In the eighth-grade contest, Casey-Westfield edged the Mustangs, 33-31. Effingham held a 9-5 opening quarter lead and held a one-point lead at halftime. Casey-Westfield came back with a 12-7 third period to lead 24-20 going into the final quarter. The Mustangs had a two-point final quarter lead, not enough to win.
Effingham was led by Raddatz with 13 points.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis picked up two wins over Jasper County in Saturday action.
The Wooden Shoes downed Jasper County 55-24 in the seventh-grade contest. T-town held a 34-14 halftime lead.
Alex Kremer tallied 10 points to lead the Shoes. Makai Kuhn led Jasper County with 10. Jasper County dropped to 4-13.
In eighth-grade action, T-town ran out to an 18-9 opening quarter lead and finished out with a 64-23 win.
Evan Wadlhoff scored 12 while Joey Niebrugge added 10.
Isaac Flowers and Max Meinhart scored seven each for Jasper County (8-8).
