In her statement, Shae said, "First off, I would like to thank my parents, my brother, my sister, and all of my family and friends for being the best support system I could ask for. I would like to thank my high school coaches and teammates. I would also like to thank my AAU coaches and teammates. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to play for both my high school team and my AAU team. I would like to thank everyone else who has helped develop me throughout my basketball career. Most importantly, I am thankful for all the amazing schools that have recruited me throughout the process. With that said, I am extremely excited to announce that I am committing to play for Coach McMillan at the University of Tennessee Martin! GO SKYHAWKS"
