Lid Comes Off NBA Free Agency

The lid came off the NBA free agency market Sunday night and the Brooklyn Nets made the biggest splash, with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan all announcing they’d be signing with the team.

In other announcements, Klay Thompson has agreed to sign a five-year, max deal to stay with the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors also made a deal to acquire guard D’Angelo Russell, and will send Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies along with future first-round picks to clear cap space.


Trail Blazers, Lillard Agree To Extension

The Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard have agreed to a four-year, $196 million super maximum extension.


Middleton To Return To Bucks

All-Star Khris Middleton has agreed to a five-year, $178 million contract to return to the Milwaukee Bucks. Brook Lopez and Malcolm Brogdon also agreed to four-year deals to stay in Milwaukee.


Mavericks Deal With Porzingis, Powell

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a five-year, $158 million maximum-salary contract with restricted free agent Kristaps Porzingis and on a three year extension with Dwight Powell.  


Horford Heads To 76ers

Al Horford is leaving the Boston Celtics for a four-year deal with the 76ers, who’ve also agreed to a deal with free-agent forward Tobias Harris. That means Jimmy Butler is out in Philly, although the Miami Heat are finalizing a sign-and-trade deal with the Sixers.


Redick Joins New Orleans

Free-agent guard JJ Redick has agreed to a two-year, $26.5 million deal to join the New Orleans Pelicans.


Rubio Leaves Jazz

Free-agent point guard Ricky Rubio has agreed to leave the Utah Jazz for a three-year, $51 million deal with the Phoenix Suns.
