The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes bounced back in the second half to defeat the Breese Central Cougars 52-45 Friday night at the Nashville Invitational Tournament.  The win avenges an earlier defeat and propels the Shoes into the championship game tonight.

After the game stood tied at 10-10 after one quarter, the Cougars outscored the Shoes 18-14 in the second quarter to lead 28-24 at halftime.  Five three-pointers aided Central in claiming the halftime advantage.

The third quarter was the difference in this one, though, as Teutopolis blistered Breese Central 17-4 in the period to take a 41-32 lead.  Central outscored the Shoes 13-11 in the final period, but T-Town still claimed a seven-point win.

Kyle Pruemer led the way for Teutopolis with 17 points and eight rebounds.  Derek Smith scored 12 points and Devin Falbe scored 11.  Also for the Shoes: Jared Waldhoff six, Reed Hardiek four, and Rourke Schultz two.

The Shoes will take on Waterloo Gibault tonight at 8:00 for the tournament championship.  Gibault posted a 57-52 win over Breese Mater Dei in the other semi-final game Friday night.  Mater Dei will play Breese Central for third place at 6:30pm.  Nashville will take on Mascoutah for the consolation championship.
