CHAMPAIGN — The University of Illinois opened the men's basketball season with a 99-60 victory over Evansville Thursday evening at the State Farm Center.

The Illini had five players hit double digits. Aaron Jordan tallied 19 points while Ayo Dosunmu scored 18, Andres Feliz 16, Kipper Nichols 13 and Trent Frazier 10. Giorgi Bezhanishvili pulled down 10 rebounds.

Illinois took off with runs in the first half and held a 53-22 lead. Evansville had trouble holding onto the ball, turning it over 15 times by halftime and finishing with 26 for the game.

The Illini are on a 22 straight win streak from last season. This was the highest score of 99 points for the winners since last year's season-opener where they tallied 102.

The Illini will play host to Georgetown Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
