ST. ELMO -- St. Elmo/Brownstown was a winner in both seventh and eighth-grade boys basketball action Monday evening.

St. Elmo/Brownstown won the seventh-grade contest 48-12 with a 20-7 halftime lead and a 28-5 second half surge. Maxey led the winners with 21 points while Brown chipped in with 14.

In eighth-grade competition, St. Elmo/Brownstown won 40-14. Again the winners had a 20-3 first half lead and outscored their opponents 20-11 in the second half. Feezel led the way with 12 points.

At Teutopolis

Teutoplis claimed two wins over Flora Floyd Henson Monday evening.

T-town won the seventh-grade contest 35-25. After trailing 16-5 at halftime, T-town came out with a 16-7 third quarter run and knotted the score at 25-25 sending the game into overtime. T-town then outscored Flora 10-0 in the overtime period to pull out the victory.

Lee Hardiek tallied 12 for the winners while Eric Kremer chipped in with nine.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town won 46-33. T-town led 26-14 at halftime and edged Flora 20-19 in the second half. Blake Mette and Lucas Deters were in double figures with 14 and 12 respectively.

In the Urbana Shootout Saturday, T-town fell to Decatur Robertson 28-26 andwon over JW Eater Rantoul 50-21 in seventh-grade play, lost to Decatur Robertson 43-37 and lost to Rantoul Eater 47-20 in eighth-grade action.

At Shelbyville

In eighth-grade basketball action, Altamont claimed a 58-34 win over Shelbyville.

Altamont took a 21-8 opening quarter lead as Armstrong tallied 10 of his final 24 points. Also in double figures was Bowlin with 10.

Shelbyville was a winner in seventh-grade action 49-37. Young led Shelbyville with 20 points while Pullen added 11. Altamont was led by Runge with 11 and Brown with 10.
