CLINTON -- Cumberland High School handed Maroa-Forysth a 70-49 loss in the Clinton Boys Basketball Shootout Saturday.

The Pirates took a 19-15 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 37-21 at halftime. Tyson Magee scored 19 of his total 27 points for the Pirates in the first half.

Zach Wolke picked up the offense in the second half with 11 of his 18 points.

In a regular season Friday contest, Cumberland defeated Okaw Valley 54-38. Magee scored 23 points while Wolke chipped in with 19.

Teutopolis trailed Champaign St. Thomas More 11-10 after the opening quarter but led 27-20 at halftime.

The Wooden Shoes had a 40-26 second half for a 67-46 win.

Lee Hardiek led the way for the Shoes with 19 while Clint Weber added 18 and Dawson Smith 13. Smith pulled down seven rebounds and had three steals. Landon Jensen also had seven rebounds while Weber led with eight boards.

At Dieterich

Dieterich captured a 70-43 National Trail Conference win over Altamont in action Friday evening.

The Movin' Maroons held a 35-24 halftime lead behind the scoring of Ryan Radloff, a 6-foot senior, with 16 points. Radloff finished with 25 to lead the winners. Callaway Campton chipped in with 19 by hitting six field goals, that included three trifectas, and four of four at the line.

Altamont was led by Mitchell Stevenson with 13 and Alek Biggs with 10.

The Indians played a Saturday contest against Woodlawn and captured a 74-55 victory.

Altamont took a 12-9 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 30-12 at halftime and 50-33 going into the final quarter.

Four players hit double figures for the winners. Alek Biggs tallied 24 points connecting on six field goals that included two trifectas and was 10 of 14 at the line. Mitchell Stevenson added 19 as he hit six field goals, one a three-pointer and was six of six at the line. Noah Teasley added 14 and Aiden Jahraus 10.

Altamont also claimed the junior varsity game 58-50.

The Cougars took off to an 11-4 opening quarter lead and led 22-12 at halftime.

Two players scored in double figures for the Cougars. Logan Lotz led the way with 11 while Trent Geiler added 10.

St. Elmo/Brownstown tallied a 59-54 National Trail Conference win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Friday evening.

SEB edged out to a 17-15 opening quarter lead and led by that same two-point margin 29-27 at halftime. SEB then outscored WSS 30-27 in the second half.

SEB was led by Lewis Brown, a 5-foot-9 senior, with 29 points. He conencted on nine field goals that included a three-pointer and was 10 of 13 at the line. He also had six rebounds, two assists, five steals and a blocked shots.

Also in double figures was Andy Goldsborough with 14. Goldsborough had three assists and six rebounds. Rocky Himes led in boards with eight.

WSS was led by Chase Thies with 14 points, Gavin Bennett with 10 and Adam Burton with 10. Christian Kessler had 10 rebounds and Burton had three assists.
