SIGEL -- Stewardson-Strasburg and Altamont advanced to the championship of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament Tuesday.

Stew-Stras stepped out to a 10-3 lead on Dieterich and claimed a 35-18 victory.

J. Wittenberg and A. Wittenberg tallied 12 points each for the winners. Dieterich was led by Kidd with 10.

Stew-Stras improves to 13-0 on the season,

In the second contest, Altamont downed South Central, 33-23.

Altamont will now meet Stew-Stras at 8 p.m. Thursday for the tourney title. Dieterich and South Central will square off for third place at 6:45 p.m.  St. Elmo/Brownstown and North Clay meet for the consolation championship at 5:30.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis split victories with Olney in action Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 32-15. T-town took a 16-8 halftime lead and had a 7-3 third period. B. Niebrugge led the way with 11 points.

In the eighth-grade game, Olney was a 30-29 winner. T-town led 19-11 at halftime but Olney came back with an 8-4 third period to pull within 23-19 going into the final period then had an 11-6 run to pull out the victory.

T-town was led by Sam Bushur with 13 points.

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran picked up two large-scoring victories over St. Peter Lutheran Tuesday.

ALIS won the seventh-grade contest 42-16. With a 16-0 opening quarter lead, Altamont Lutheran put this game away early. ALIS was led by Nathan Shepard with 12 points and Mason Robinson with 11.

St. Peter was led by Hoover with seven.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont Lutheran ran off a 20-3 opening quarter and led 43-5 at halftime.

Four players finished in double figures for the winners. AJ Kopplin led with 14 points while Quinn Verdeyen had 12, Noah Klimpel 11 and Tyler Robbins 10.

St. Peter was led by Roberts with 11.
