8th Grade Girls Regional Results from Nov 30

Here are eighth grade girls regional results from Thursday, November 30:

At the 8-1A Regional at Sigel St. Michael, St. Michael won the championship with a 38-19 victory over Dieterich. The Sharpshooters will play in Sectional action Wednesday night, December 6. The Sectional will also be played at St. Michael.

At the 8-2A Regional at Kinmundy, Brownstown took one semifinal game over South Central 31-29, while Altamont defeated Nokomis 43-27. Brownstown will play Altamont for the regional championship tonight at 6:15pm.

At the 8-2A Regional at Louisville, St. Anthony won one semifinal contest over Casey-Westfield 39-24, while Palestine defeated Neoga in the other contest. The score was not available. St. Anthony will play Palestine for the regional championship tonight at 6:30pm. The Bullpups led 12-5 after the first quarter and were up 22-9 at halftime and 32-17 after three periods. For St. Anthony, Guy led the way with 12 points while Kabbes scored 10, Strullmyer 6, Wegman 4, Clausius 3, Hakman 2 and Ala. Stephens 2. 

At the 8-3A Regional at Teutopolis, Teutopolis claimed one semifinal game 40-4 over Red Hill, while Marshall beat Edwards County 44-22 in the other contest. Teutopolis will play Marshall tonight at 6:30pm for the regional championship. Teutopolis sprinted out to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and posted the same score in the second period to lead 28-4 at halftime. Red Hill did not score in the second half. For Teutopolis, Izzy Hardiek scored 12 points. Also for T-Town: Grace Tegeler 7, Macy Probst 6, Daischa Piedra 5, Grace Hoene 4, Lana Jansen 2 and Tia Probst 2. Teutopolis is now 19-2 on the season.

At the 8-3A Regional at Paris, Tuscola East Prairie won the regional championship with a 44-40 win over Paris Mayo. East Prairie will play in the Marshall Sectional December 6 against the winner of the Teutopolis Regional.

At the 8-4A Regional at Urbana, Danville North Ridge won one semifinal game 37-28 over Urbana, while Effingham downed Mattoon 30-23 in overtime in the other game. Danville North Ridge will take on Effingham tonight at 5pm for the regional championship. Effingham led 7-5 after one quarter, but trailed 14-11 at halftime. Effingham pushed back ahead 19-17 after three quarters, but Mattoon tied the game at 23-23 at the end of regulation. Effingham, though, outscored Mattoon 7-0 in the overtime to post the win and advance to the championship game. For Effingham, Sowell led the way with 10 points, Schaefer scored 9, Chrappa 3, and Harden, Althoff, Ohnesorge and Duncan 2 each. The Mustangs eighth graders are now 13-7 on the season.
