Effingham St. Anthony claimed a freshman boys basketball contest over Charleston 52-43 Monday evening.

Charleston led 25-23 at halftime. The Bulldogs moved within 34-33 going into the final quarter then went on a tear, knocking in 19 points and holding the Trojans to nine for the victory.

Logan Antrim and Justin Ruholl tallied 12 points each for the Bulldogs.

In the sophomore contest, St. Anthony claimed a 65-58 win. The Bulldogs stepped out to a 19-9 opening quarter lead but Charleston led 31-28 at halftime. The score was tied at 47-47 going into the final quarter.

In the final period, Aaron Webb knocked in two trifectas while Connor Walk added a three-pointer and two regular baskets for seven and the Bulldogs pulled out the win.

Webb, Kayden Fearday and Walk scored 14 points each for the Bulldogs.

At Teutopolis

The Teutopolis sophomores claimed a 55-42 victory over the Dieterich sophomores in action Monday evening.

T-town held a 29-19 halftime lead then had a 20-10 third quarter.

The Shoes were led by Mitch Hemmen with 16, Luke Ungrund with 11 and Brock Deters with 11.

Niebrugge tallied 12 points for Dieterich while Hartke added nine and Hunzinger eight.
