Pairings Released For St. Anthony Turkey Tournament, Capital Classic

Pairings have been released for the 2017 Effingham St. Anthony High School Boys Basketball Turkey Tournament and the Capital Classic.

St. Anthony Turkey Tournament

Teams entered in Pool A for the St. Anthony Tournament are St. Anthony, Okaw Valley, Highland and Effingham. In Pool B are Mattoon, Breese Central, Robinson and Champaign St. Thomas More.

The tourney opens Monday, November 20 and will run Tuesday, November 21, Wednesday, November 22, Friday, November 24 and finish out with the finals Saturday, November 25.

St. Anthony's first game will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. against Okaw Valley. Effingham's first contest will be Tuesday at 6:30 against Highland.

Capital Classic

Teutopolis is the lone area team competing in the Capital Classic scheduled for both Red Hill (Bridgeport) and Lawrenceville high schools.

The tourney is a two-day affair held Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25.

Teutopolis will take on Marshall at 11 a.m. Friday and then meet Fairfield at 6 p.m. In Saturday action, T-town meets Lawrenceville at 11:30.

Seventh place is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday with the fifth place game at 5, the third place contest at 6:30 and the championship at 8.
