Class 8-1A Effingham Sacred Heart Regional

Effingham St. Anthony and Sigel St. Michael advanced to the championship game of the Sacred Heart Regional with victories Thursday evening.

St. Anthony claimed a 29-5 win over Noble in the opening contest. The Bullpups led 16-0 at halftime and outscored Noble 13-5 in the second half. Woltman led St. Anthony with 15 points.

In the second game, St. Michael claimed a 31-20 win over Effingham Sacred Heart. The Sharpshooters held only a 15-14 halftime lead but started to edge away in the third period 21-18. Hoene tallied 11 for the winners. The Shamrocks were led by S. Webster with 12.

Class 8-2A South Central Regional

Altamont captured the championship of the 8-2A South Central Regional. Altamont defeated Neoga 40-18.

Altamont advances to the Paris Crestwood Sectional Wednesday, December 5 and will take on Paris Crestwood at 6 p.m. for the right to advance to the state tournament.

Class 8-3A Hillsboro Regional

Host Hillsboro handed Vandalia a 32-7 loss to capture the championship of its own regional Thursday evening.

Hillsboro advances to its own sectional Wednesday, December 5 where it will face either Litchfield or Piasa Southwestern for a chance to go to state.

Class 8-3A Lawrenceville Parkview Regional

Jasper County and Lawrenceville Parkview picked up victories to advance to the championship game of the Parkview Regional tonight.

Jasper County defeated Red Hill (Bridgeport) 30-13 while Lawrenceville Parkview won over Robinson Nuttall 34-24.

The two squads will square off tonight at 6 for the championship. The winner tonight will advance to the Cumberland Sectional and face either Teutopolis or Marshall Wednesday, December 5 at 6 p.m. for the right to advance to state. Teutopolis and Marshall play tonight for the champoinship of the Marshall Regional at 6.
