Nov. 17 Junior High Girls Seventh-Grade Regional Roundup

Class 7-1A Effingham St. Anthony Regional

Noble picked up an opening round victory in the St. Anthony Regional Saturday.

Noble defeated Dieterich 16-11. Noble now advances to a 6 p.m. meeting with Sigel St. Michael today. In the second contest tonight, St. Anthony takes on Effingham Sacred Heart at 7:15. The winners advance to meet for the championship Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Class 7-2A Altamont Regional

Altamont and Stewardson-Strasburg will square off for the championship of the Altamont Regional after winning Saturday.

Altamont defeated Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick. C. McHugh scored eight of her 14 points in the opening quarter as Altamont took a 12-0 lead.

In the second game, Stewardson-Strasburg downed Neoga 37-15, taking a 15-8 opening quarter lead and blanking Neoga 14-0 in the third period. Davis tallied eight and Schlechte seven for the winners. Atwell scored eight for Neoga.

Altamont and Stew-Stras will meet for the championship at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Class 7-3A Casey-Westfield Regional

Cumberland opened the Casey-Westfield Regional with a win. Cumberland defeated Marshall 30-24 to advance to a 6 p.m. meeting today against Paris Mayo.

In the second contest, Teutopolis faces Casey-Westfield at 7:15 p.m. The winners advance to the championship Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Class 7-3A Lawrenceville Parkview Regional

Robinson Nuttall picked up an opening round victory in the Lawrenceville Parkview Regional.

Robinson Nuttall defeated Red Hill (Bridgeport) 23-13. Robinson Nuttall advanced to face Jasper County in the second game and fell 28-4. In the final game Saturday, Lawrenceville Parkview downed Edwards County (Albion) 39-8.

Jasper County will face Lawrenceville Parkview at 6 p.m. today for the championship.

Class 7-3A Pana Regional

Greenville and Hillsboro advanced after opening round play in the Pana Regional Saturday.

Greenville defeated Vandalia 15-8 and will now face Brownstown at 6 p.m. today. Hillsboro downed Kincaid South Fork 25-10 and will meet Pana at 7:15 p.m. today. The winners advance to the championship game Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Class 7-4A Charleston Regional

Charleston and Mattoon were winners Saturday in the Charleston  Regional.

Charleston defeated Champaign Franklin 49-19 and will face Champaign Jefferson tonight at 6. Mattoon downed Champaign Edison 39-7 and will face Effingham at 7:30 p.m. today. The winners advance to the regional title game Tuesday at 6 p.m.
