Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School picked up a 31-20 win over Sigel St. Michael Monday evening in boys basketball play.

St. Anthony led 12-9 at halftime then had a 13-3 third period run. Walsh scored 10 while Deters chipped in with eight. Beesley had 13 rebounds. Wolke led St. Michael with eight.

At Teutopolis

Neoga downed Teutopolis in seventh-grade B play 40-28. Hansen, Ramert and Butler scored eight points each in even scoring for Neoga. T-town was led by Will Schlink with seven.

In the eighth-grade B play, Teutopolis tallied a 69-14 victory. T-town held a 36-8 halftime lead. McMahon and Mette tallied 16 each while Bloemer scored 11. Harper led Neoga with six.

At Altamont

Altamont picked up two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg. Altamont won the seventh-grade contest 36-25. Runge tallied 12 for the winners. Kessler led Stew-Stras with eight.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont was a 52-15 winner. Altamont took a 34-11 halftime lead. Armstrong and Cornett tallied 10 points each for Altamont. Stew-Stras was led by Overbeck with 11.

At Ramsey

St. Elmo/Brownstown defeated Ramsey in both games. St. Elmo/Brownstown was a 41-37 winner in seventh-grade action. Brown led the winners with 16 while Maxey chipped in with 15.

In eighth-grade play, St. Elmo/Brownstown won 52-29. The winning squad was led by Kroll and Feezel with 14 each and Austin with 10.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) picked up its first victory of the season at home against Clay City.

North Clay won 76-16. Leading scorers were Brandon Repking 12, Quincy Aldrich 12 and Jordan Bloemer 10.

At Newton

Jasper County edged Mattoon 31-28 in boys eighth-grade basketball action Monday evening.

Joe Stone tallied 11 points while Tim Weber added 10 for the winners. Danis Johnson led Mattoon with 11.
