NTC Seventh-Grade Girls Tourney Results -- Oct. 21

The National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament got underway Wednesday evening.

In the opener, Sigel St. Michael downed Neoga 41-19.

The second game went to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg as it edged Brownstown/St. Elmo 27-25. WSS jumped out to a 7-2 opening quarter lead and led 9-5 at halftime. BSE came back with a 12-8 third quarter run to tie the score at 17-17 going into the final quarter. WSS then had a 10-8 final period edge.

Schlechte tallied 10 points and Hayes nine for the winners. Campbell led BSE with six points.

Sigel St. Michael and Windsor/Stew-Stras will now square off Friday at 6:45 p.m. in winner bracket action.

Tonight's games feature Altamont taking on Dieterich at 5:30 p.m. and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick meeting Effingham Sacred Heart at 6:45 in opening games. Neoga will go against BSE in consolation bracket action at 8 p.m.
