Nets Edge Raptors To Advance To East Semis

(Toronto, Ontario) -- Paul Pierce blocked Kyle Lowry's potential game-winner in the closing seconds as the Nets edged the Raptors 104-103 in Game Seven of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Brooklyn advances to play the Miami Heat in the semifinals starting Tuesday. Joe Johnson scored 26 points, while Kevin Garnett recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Nets, who won the final two games of the series. Marcus Thornton tallied 17 points off the bench in the victory. Lowry ended with a game-high 28 points for the Raptors, who have not won a playoff series since 2001. Amir Johnson added 20 points and 10 boards in the season-ending setback.


Spurs Rout Mavericks In Game Seven; Advance To Semis

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tony Parker posted a game-high 32 points to lead the Spurs to a 119-96 rout of the Mavericks in Game Seven of their Western Conference quarterfinal series at the AT&T Center. Manu Ginobili scored 20 points off the bench and Danny Green added 16 for the Spurs, who will play the Portland Trail Blazers in the West semifinals starting Tuesday. Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard added 15 points apiece in the victory. Dirk Nowitzki netted 22 points to go with nine rebounds to lead Dallas. Devin Harris had 17 points off the pine in defeat.
