Spurs Hold Off Mavericks In Game Five

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tony Parker posted 23 points with five assists to help the Spurs bounce the Mavericks, 109-103, from the AT&T Center to give San Antonio a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals series. Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter both and double-doubles, while Manu Ginobili came off the bench to contribute 19 points, five assists and four rebounds. San Antonio tries to close out the series in Dallas on Friday in Game Six. Dirk Nowitzki posted 26 points and 15 rebounds in the defeat. Reserve Vince Carter had a game-high 28 points for the Mavs.


Raptors Avoid Collapse Against Nets

(Toronto, Ontario) -- The Raptors avoided an epic collapse pulling out a 115-113 win in Game Five over the Nets from the Air Canada Centre. Brooklyn outscored Toronto 44-to-24 in the fourth quarter to make a game that looked over come down to the final possession.  Kyle Lowry led the way for the Raptors with 36 points and six assists.  DeMar DeRozan added 23 points, six boards and five helpers for Toronto, which goes back to Brooklyn on Friday with a 3-2 lead and a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals to face the Heat. Joe Johnson scored 26 of his 30 points in the second half to spearhead Brooklyn's rally that fell short. Mirza Teletovic chipped in 17 off the bench in the loss.


Rockets Stay Alive With Victory

(Houston, TX) -- Dwight Howard notched 22 points and 14 rebounds in the Rockets 108-98 win over the Blazers in Game Five of their Western Conference quarterfinals series at the Toyota Center.  Chandler Parsons chipped in 20 points while James Harden scored 17 points on just 5-of-15 shooting. Jeremy Lin added 21 key points off the bench for Houston, which trails the series 3-to-2. Wesley Matthews and Damian Lillard paced the Blazers with 27 and 26 points, respectively, while LaMarcus Aldridge was held to eight points on 3-of-12 shooting. Portland will have another chance to close out the series Friday when they host Game Six.


Noah To Have MRI

(Deerfield, IL) -- Bulls center Joakim Noah will have an MRI on his left knee. Chicago's season came to an end on Tuesday with a loss to the Wizards in Game Five of their postseason series. Head coach Tom Thibodeau says Noah has been playing with the injury for a while. Noah averaged 10.4 points 12.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists in five postseason games.

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose continues to rehab his torn meniscus he suffered on November 22 of this past season. Head coach Tom Thibodeau says Rose is "right on schedule." Rose is hopeful to participate with Team USA this summer in training camp.
