Knicks Sink Bulls

(New York, NY) -- Despite being eliminated from playoff contention the Knicks showed some pride defeating the Bulls, 100-89, at Madison Square Garden behind 17 points each from Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith. Tim Hardaway Junior added 20 off the bench for New York, which moved to 35-45. Jimmy Butler posted 17 points in the loss. Joakim Noah just missed a triple-double with 13 points, 17 boards and nine assists. At 47-33 Chicago is the fourth-seed in the East due to a tie-breaker with the Raptors.

 

Pacers Top Thunder

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Lance Stephenson totaled 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to carry the Pacers to a 102-97 win over the Thunder at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Paul George tallied 20 points and 12 rebounds for Indiana, which moved half a game up on the Heat for the top spot in the East. David West scored a team-high 21 points in the win. Kevin Durant turned in 38 points to lead Oklahoma City, which is already locked into the second position in the West. Russell Westbrook added 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the loss.


Nets Knock Off Magic

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Mirza Teletovic scored 20 points to pace the Nets to a 97-88 win over the Magic at the Barclays Center. Mason Plumlee added 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for Brooklyn, which is two games up on Washington for the fifth seed in the East. Joe Johnson also had 17 points in the win.  Tobias Harris turned in 18 points and seven rebounds for Orlando, which has lost five of seven. Victor Oladipo recorded 14 points in the loss.


Blazers Sink Warriors In OT

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers locked up a top-five seed in the Western Conference when Andre Iguodala missed an open three on Golden State's final possession as the Warriors fell 119-117 in overtime at the Moda Center. All five Portland starters scored in double figures paced by LaMarcus Aldridge's 26 points. Wesley Matthews added 24, while Nicolas Batum chipped in 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Portland is 53-28, trailing the Rockets by a half-game for the fourth-seed. Steph Curry's 47 points wasn't enough for Golden State. Curry knocked down 7-of-14 from behind the arc. Klay Thompson contributed 25 for the Warriors, who are 49-31.


Kings Rip Timberwolves

(Sacramento, CA) -- DeMarcus Cousins went off for 35 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and three blocks in the Kings 106-103 win against the Timberwolves at Sleep Train Arena. Ben McLemore chipped in 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting for Sacramento, which moved to 28-53. Kevin Love dropped 43 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Corey Brewer followed up a 51-points performance with 10 points missing six of eight shots. Minnesota is 40-40.


Grizzlies Dump Lakers

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Grizzlies moved one step closer to clinching a playoff spot with a 102-90 win over the Lakers at the STAPLES Center behind 24 points and eight assists from Mike Conley. Marc Gasol added 18 points and 15 rebounds as Memphis improved to 48-32. They lead the Suns by a game for the eighth-seed, but hold the tie-breaker over Phoenix. The two teams will play each at U.S. Airways Center Monday night. Jodie Meeks put up a team-high 20 points in the loss. Los Angeles is tied for the fifth-worst record in the NBA with Boston.
