A pair of Republican lawmakers are in support of another Big Ten university in Illinois.

State Senators Michael Connelly and Matt Murphy say that tight admission policies at the University of Illinois are forcing students out of state. The GOP'ers have now introduced a measure that would look into what it would take for Illinois State or Southern Illinois universities to become a Big Ten school. Northwestern and U of I are the only Big Ten schools in the state.
