East Region

Cyclones Clip Tar Heels

(San Antonio, TX) -- DeAndre Kane hit a layup with under two seconds to play as third-seeded Iowa State sank sixth-seeded North Carolina 85-83 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament from San Antonio.  Kane finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Cyclones, who improve to 28-7 and play seventh-seeded UConn in the Sweet 16 of the East Regional. Melvin Ejim chipped in with 19 points in the Kennedy Meeks tallied 15 points and 13 rebounds for UNC, which ends the season 24-10. Marcus Paige scored a team-high 19 points in the loss.


Virginia Rolls Memphis

(Raleigh, NC) -- Joe Harris tallied 16 points and five rebounds to help top-seeded Virginia take down eighth-seeded Memphis 78-60 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament from Raleigh. Anthony Gill added 13 points and eight rebounds for Virginia, which advances to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1995 and will play fourth-seeded Michigan State. Mike Tobey chipped in with 11 points and six boards for the Cavaliers. Austin Nichols scored a team-high 15 points for the Tigers, who end the year 24-10. Geron Johnson scored 11 points in defeat.

Midwest Region

Kentucky Knocks Off Wichita State

(St. Louis, MO) -- Andrew and Aaron Harrison combined for 39 points in Kentucky's 78-76 win over top-seeded Wichita State in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Julius Randle chipped in with 13 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the eighth-seeded Wildcats, who advance to play fourth-seeded Louisville in the Sweet 16 in a rematch from earlier this regular season won by the Cardinals. Cleanthony Early posted 31 points and seven rebounds for the Shockers, who lost for the first time this season and end the year 35-1. Ron Baker tallied 20 points in the loss. Both teams shot over 50-percent from the field and over 44-percent from three-point range.


Tennessee Tops Mercer

(Raleigh, NC) -- Jarnell Stokes totaled 17 points and 18 rebounds to carry 11th-ranked Tennessee to an 83-63 win over 14th-seeded Mercer in the third round of the NCAA Tournament from Raleigh. Josh Richardson scored a game-high 26 points for the Volunteers, who improve to 24-12 and advance to play second-seeded Michigan in the Sweet 16 of the Midwest Regional. The Vols were 23-of-26 from the free throw line and outrebounded the Bears 41-to-19. Langston Hall had 15 points and six assists for Mercer, who end the season 27-9.


South Region

#10 Stanford Upsets #2 Kansas To Advance To Sweet 16

(St. Louis, MO) -- The Stanford Cardinal are headed to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament following a 60-57 upset win over Kansas in third round action from St. Louis. Dwight Powell posted 15 points and seven rebounds, while Chasson Randle had 13 points and six steals for the 10th-seeded Cardinal, who will play 11th-seeded Dayton in the Sweet 16 on Thursday in Memphis. Stefan Nastic and Anthony Brown both added 10 points in the victory. Tarik Black recorded 18 points and six boards for the second-seeded Jayhawks, who were denied a fourth straight Sweet 16 appearance. Andrew Wiggins was held to just four points on 1-of-6 shooting in potentially his last college game. KU ends the season 25-10.


UCLA Drops Stephen F. Austin

(San Diego, CA) -- Jordan Adams posted 19 points and five rebounds to lift fourth-seeded UCLA to a 77-60 win over 12th-seeded Stephen F. Austin in the third round of the NCAA Tournament from San Diego. Norman Powell added 16 points for the Bruins, who improve to 28-8 and advance to play top-seeded Florida in the Sweet 16 of the South Regional. Kyle Anderson chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds in the win. Thomas Walkup had 22 points and 11 boards for the Lumberjacks, who end the year 32-3. Desmond Haymon added 17 points in the loss.


West Region

Baylor Blasts Creighton

(San Antonio, TX) -- Brady Heslip and Isaiah Austin had 17 points each to help sixth-seeded Baylor beat third-seeded Creighton 85-55 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament from San Antonio. Cory Jefferson and Kenny Chery both scored 14 points for the Bears, which shot nearly 64-percent from the floor as they moved to 26-11. Baylor battles second-seeded Wisconsin in the Sweet 16 of the West Regional. Doug McDermott closed out his career with 15 points in the loss. Austin Chatman added 11 points for the Bluejays, who end the year 27-8.


Arizona Rolls Gonzaga

(San Diego, CA) -- Aaron Gordon tallied 18 points, six rebounds and six assists to carry top-seeded Arizona to an 84-61 victory against eighth-seeded Gonzaga in the third round of the NCAA Tournament from San Diego. Nick Johnson chipped in with 17 points, five assists and five rebounds for the Wildcats, who improve to 32-4 and play fourth-seeded San Diego State in the Sweet 16. Przemek Karnowski had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who end the year 29-7. Kevin Pangos added 12 points in the loss.
