East Region

Harvard Holds On For Upset Over Cincinnati

(Spokane, WA) -- Wesley Saunders netted a team-high 12 points as 12th-seeded Harvard held off fifth-seeded Cincinnati's second-half charge to win 61-57 in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament. Siyani Chambers and Laurent Rivard each had 11 points in the balanced Crimson attack. Sean Kilpatrick led all scorers with 18 points, and Justin Jackson added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bearcats. UC shot just 36.8-percent from the field and ends its season at 27-7. Harvard moves on to play fourth-seeded Michigan State on Saturday.


Payne Scores 41 As MSU Downs Delaware

(Spokane, WA) -- It was the Adreian Payne show as Michigan State dismantled Delaware 93-78 in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament. Payne posted a career-high 41 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field and a perfect 17-for-17 at the free throw line.  He also had eight rebounds. Travis Trice scored 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting off the Spartans' bench. Devon Saddler led the Blue Hens with 21 points. Kyle Anderson shot just 1-of-10 from the field, including 0-for-6 from three, to finish with nine points. Delaware ends its season at 25-10. Michigan State will play Harvard in Saturday's Round of 32.


UConn Advances Past St. Joe's

(Buffalo, NY) -- Shabazz Napier posted 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists to guide seventh-seeded UConn to an 89-81 overtime win against 10th-seeded Saint Joseph's in the second round of the NCAA Tournament from Buffalo. DeAndre Daniels had 18 points for the Huskies, who improve to 27-8. Connecticut plays second-seeded Villanova in the third round of the East Regional on Saturday. The Huskies were 11-of-24 from three-point range. Langston Galloway scored 25 points and was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc for St. Joe's, which ends the year at 24-10. Ronald Roberts Junior totaled 15 points and 10 rebounds in the setback.


Villanova Tops Milwaukee

(Buffalo, NY) -- Darrun Hilliard the Second scored 16 points to pace second-seeded Villanova to a 73-53 win over 15th-seeded Milwaukee in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Buffalo. JayVaughn Pinkston had 13 points and eight rebounds while James Bell tallied 12 points with seven rebounds for the Wildcats, who move to 29-4 and play seventh-seeded UConn in the third round of the East Regional. Austin Arians had a game-high 17 points for the Panthers, who end the season at 21-14.


Midwest Region

Michigan Dumps Wofford To Advance

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Nik Stauskas scored 15 points to lead second-seeded Michigan past Wofford, 57-40, in the Round of 64 of the Midwest Region in Milwaukee.  Jordan Morgan posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Glenn Robinson the Third added 14 points and seven boards for last season's national runner-up. The Terriers shot 1-of-19 from three as they finished the season 20-13. Karl Cochran was their only player in double figures with 17. The Wolverines play seventh-seeded Texas in the Round of 32.


Billikens Nip NC State In OT

(Orlando, FL) -- Rob Loe posted 22 points and 15 rebounds to carry Saint Louis to an 83-80 overtime win against North Carolina State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament from Orlando. The Billikens were down nine with 2:22 left in regulation and trailed by double-digits for most of the middle of the contest.  Jordair Jett hit a layup late in regulation to tie it up for Saint Louis, which improved to 27-6 and plays fourth-seeded Louisville in the third round of the Midwest Regional. T.J. Warren was 11-of-22 from the floor for 28 points and eight rebounds, but he fouled out late in the game. Ralston Turner scored 16 points and five boards for NC State, which ends the season at 22-14.


Texas Tops ASU At Buzzer

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Cameron Ridley's bucket at the buzzer lifted Texas to an 87-85 win over Arizona State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee. Ridley ended with 17 points, 12 rebounds and four huge blocks for the seventh-seeded Longhorns, who will face second-seeded Michigan in round three on Saturday. Martez Walker scored 16 points off the bench and Demarcus Holland added 14 in the victory. Jordan Bachynski dropped in a game-high 25 points to go with seven boards for the 10th-seeded Sun Devils, who end their season 21-12. Jahii Carson had 19 points and nine assists in the setback.


Louisville Avoids Upset At Hands Of Manhattan

(Orlando, FL) -- Defending champion Louisville got all it could handle as they snuck past 13th-seeded Manhattan, 71-64, at the Amway Center in the Round of 64. Luke Hancock knocked down two big three pointers late in the second half to finish up with 16 points. The fourth-seeded Cardinals advance to the third round to face Saint Louis on Saturday. Ashton Pankey paced the Jaspers with 16 points. Manhattan led by three with under four minutes left, but couldn't pull off the upset.  They finished the season 25-8.


South Region

Dayton Upsets Ohio State In Final Seconds

(Buffalo, NY) -- Vee Sanford hit the go-ahead jumper with six seconds left as 11th-seeded Dayton upset sixth-seeded Ohio State 60-59 in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament. Sanford netted 10 points off the bench, while Dyshawn Pierre had 12 points and eight rebounds. Senior Aaron Craft had 16 points in his final game for Ohio State, but missed a driving shot to the basket as time expired. Sam Thompson led all scorers with 18 points for the Buckeyes, who end their season 25-10. Dayton will play third-seed Syracuse in the Round of 32 on Saturday.


Pitt Blows Out Colorado

(Orlando, FL) -- Talib Zanna notched 18 points as ninth-seeded Pittsburgh built a 28-point first-half lead and never looked back, devastating Colorado 77-48 in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament. Cameron Wright scored 11 points for the Panthers, who had 11 players crack the score sheet in the rout. Josh Scott led the Buffaloes with 14 points and six rebounds in the loss. Xavier Johnson added 11 points for Colorado, which shot under 36-percent for the game.  The Buffs end their season 23-12. Pitt moves on to play top-seeded Florida in the third round on Saturday.


Orange Cruise Past Western Michigan

(Buffalo, NY) -- Trevor Cooney racked up 18 points as third-seeded Syracuse cruised past 14th-seeded Western Michigan 77-53 in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament. Tyler Ennis and Jerami Grant netted 16 points each, and C.J. Fair tallied 14 points and 11 rebounds for 'Cuse. The Orange stifled the Broncos' offense to under 35-percent shooting. Tucker Haymond and Shayne Whittington had 11 points each for the Broncos, who finish their season 23-and-10.  Syracuse will play 11th-seed Dayton in the Round of 32 on Saturday.


Florida Pulls Away From Albany

(Orlando, FL) -- Dorian Finney-Smith provided 16 of Florida's 26 bench points as the top-seeded Gators pulled away from 16th-seeded Albany 67-55 in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament. Casey Prather netted 16 points and Patric Young posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Florida. D.J. Evans had 21 points to lead the Great Danes, who only trailed the Gators by six at halftime. Albany managed only two Luke Devlin points off their entire bench as they finished the season at 19-and-15.  Florida moves on to play ninth-seeded Pittsburgh in Saturday's Round of 32.


West Region

Wisconsin Rolls American U.

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Traevon Jackson led all scorers with 18 points as second-seeded Wisconsin routed 15th-seeded American 75-35 in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament. Jackson also had four rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Ben Brust added 17 points in the win. The Badgers held the Eagles to under 30-percent shooting for the game. John Schoof and Tony Wroblicky led AU in scoring with 11 points each as the Patriot League champs end their season at 20-13. Wisconsin moves on to play seventh-seeded Oregon on Saturday.


Cook, Oregon Handle BYU

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Elgin Cook was key off the bench as Oregon handled BYU 87-68 in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament. Cook had 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting and also grabbed eight rebounds in the win. Joseph Young netted 19 points for the seventh-seeded Ducks. The 10th-seeded Cougars struggled from the floor, shooting just 32.8-percent in the loss. Tyler Haws had 19 points and Eric Mika and Matt Carlino 15 each for BYU, which closes out its season at 23-and-12. The Ducks move on to play second-seed Wisconsin in the Round of 32 on Saturday.


Bison Beat Sooners In OT

(Spokane, WA) -- Lawrence Alexander hit a three-pointer late in regulation and posted 28 points with eight rebounds to guide 12th-seeded North Dakota State to an 80-75 overtime win over fifth-seeded Oklahoma in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. OU was up four with 32 seconds left before Alexander's shot eventually sent the game to OT. Alexander scored six of the team's 14 points in the extra time. The Bison are 26-6 and play fourth-seeded San Diego State in the third round from Spokane on Saturday. Cameron Clark scored 25 points for the Sooners, who end the season 23-10.


Aztecs Take Care Of Aggies

(Spokane, WA) -- Xavier Thames scored 23 points with five assists as fourth-seeded San Diego State escaped with a 73-69 overtime victory against 13th-seeded New Mexico in Spokane. Dwayne Polee the Second added 15 points off the bench for SDSU, which choked away an eight-point lead with 1:24 left in regulation.  The Aztecs take on 12th-seeded North Dakota State in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Daniel Mullings scored 18 points with five rebounds for the Aggies, who end the season 26-and-10.
