Nets Turn Away Bulls

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Deron Williams had 20 points and six assists as the Nets turned in a 96-80 win over the Bulls at the Barclays Center. Joe Johnson added 19 points for Brooklyn while Paul Pierce and Shaun Livingston each finished with 14 points. The Nets have won three straight and four out of five. Joakim  Noah was limited to 10 points and six rebounds while turning the ball over six times for Chicago. D.J. Augustin had 16 points while Jimmy Butler poured in 13 for the Bulls, who saw a four-game win streak end.

 

LeBron Erupts For 61 As Heat Hammer Bobcats

(Miami, FL) -- LeBron James erupted for a career-high and franchise-best 61 points as the Heat hammered the Bobcats 124-107 at AmericanAirlines Arena. "King James" finished 22-of-33 from the field and also had seven rebounds and five assists in the Heat's eighth straight win. Chris Bosh added 15 points and seven boards and Toney Douglas donated 10 points in the victory. Al Jefferson racked up 38 points and 19 rebounds for Charlotte, which has lost three in-a-row on the heels of a season-high four-game winning streak. Anthony Tolliver and Chris Douglas-Roberts both had 12 points in defeat.


Grizzlies Hold Off Wizards

(Washington, DC) -- The Grizzlies held off a Wizards fourth quarter rally to pull out a 110-104 victory at the Verizon Center behind 20 points and seven assists from Mike Conley. Tayshaun Prince chipped in 21, while Zach Randolph had a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards. Memphis is a game behind the Suns and Mavs for the final two spots in the Western Conference playoff race. Washington rallied with a 40-point fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough. John Wall paced the Wizards with 23 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Bradley Beal added 21 points as Washington fell to 31-29.


Pistons Dump Knicks

(Auburn Hills, MI) -- Andre Drummond grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds to go along with 17 points and three blocks as the Pistons disposed of the Knicks, 96-85, at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum each added 16 points off the bench for Detroit, which snapped a four-game losing streak.  Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire combined for 50 points on 20-of-42 shooting in the loss. The rest of the Knicks team shot 12-of-51 from the field. New York has lost seven straight.


Bucks Blast Jazz

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Ersan Ilyasova scored a season-high 31 points on 13-of-14 shooting from the field as the Bucks blasted the Jazz 114-88 at the Bradley Center. Zaza Pachulia and Ramon Sessions added 14 points apiece for the Bucks, who improved to just 12-and-47 on the season. Enes Kanter posted 27 points and 14 rebounds off the bench to lead Utah, which has lost three straight. Gordon Hayward had 20 points and Alec Burks netted 12 in the setback.


Love Powers Wolves Past Nuggets

(Denver, CO) -- Kevin Love posted 33 points with 19 rebounds as the Timberwolves bounced the Nuggets 132-128 at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Nikola Pekovic added 16 points and nine boards while Corey Brewer also had 16 points. Kevin Martin chimed in with 22 points for Minnesota, which has won six out of seven.  Ty Lawson returned from a nine-game absence with a rib injury to score 31 points with 11 assists for Denver. Wilson Chandler added 25 points and 10 rebounds while Randy Foye netted 22 points for the Nuggets, who continue to slide having lost six straight and 11 of their last 12.


Lakers Sneak By Blazers

(Portland, OR) -- The Lakers pulled off a surprising 107-106 win over the Trail Blazers at the Moda Center when Damian Lillard missed a long jumper as time expired. Wes Johnson scored the game-winning basket on an alley-oop off an inbounds pass in the closing seconds for Los Angeles. Johnson finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Pau Gasol posted 22 points, nine boards and five helpers for LA, which has won two in-a-row. LaMarcus Aldridge contributed 21 points and six rebounds in the loss. Damian Lillard chipped in 20 points with five boards and five assists. Portland had a five-game winning streak snapped.


Kings Crown Pelicans

(Sacramento, CA) -- DeMarcus Cousins recorded 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Kings past the Pelicans 96-89 at Sleep Train Arena. Isaiah Thomas totaled 22 points and Rudy Gay had 14 for the Kings, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Ben McLemore and Reggie Evans both added 10 points in the victory. Tyreke Evans racked up 27 points, 10 boards and eight assists against his former team. Brian Roberts scored 15 points and Anthony Davis donated 13 for New Orleans, which has lost eight straight.
