Illinois Upsets Michigan State

(East Lansing, MI) -- Tracy Abrams had 12 points and five steals to lead Illinois in Saturday's 53-46 upset win over Michigan State. Rayvonte Rice added 10 points and five rebounds for the Fighting Illini, who moved to 17-12 with a 6-10 Big Ten mark. The Illini host Michigan Tuesday.

 

College Basketball Roundup

DePaul suffered a 72-64 loss at St. John's Sunday. Tonight, Notre Dame is on the road at North Carolina. UIC opens the Horizon League tournament against Valparaiso Tuesday while Northern Illinois meets Western Michigan. Northwestern hosts Penn State on Thursday.

Arizona Takes Care Of Stanford

(Tucson, AZ) -- Arizona clinched the Pac-12 regular season title with a 79-66 crushing of Stanford at the McKale Center Sunday behind 19 points and 15 rebounds from Aaron Gordon. The Wildcats are 27-2 overall and 14-2 in conference. U-of-A is at Oregon State on Wednesday.

Marquette Falls At No. 9 Villanova

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Deonte Burton scored 13 points in Marquette's 73-56 loss to ninth-ranked Villanova on Sunday in Philadelphia. Todd Mayo added 11 points for the Golden Eagles, who slipped to 17-12 on the year and 9-7 in the Big East. Marquette is at Providence tomorrow in its final road game of the regular season.
