Dieterich Wins Cumberland Regional w/Victory Over NTC Foe Neoga

The Dieterich Movin Maroons are headed for 1A Sectional action Wednesday at Red Hill after a 59-40 win over National Trail Conference foe Neoga Friday to capture the Cumberland 1A Regional Tournament.

Dieterich gradually pulled away to the win, taking a 14-10 lead after the first quarter and leading 28-16 at halftime.  The Movin Maroons extended the lead to 42-24 after three quarters.

Alex Bohnhoff led Dieterich with 18 points and Tanner Traub scored 11 points.  Also for the Movin Maroons: Nick Feldhake nine, Lance Niemerg eight, Devin Aherin six, Travis Niemerg five, and Marshall Mellendorf two points.

Jake Baker with 12 points and Wyatt Krikie with 10 points led Neoga, who saw a six-game winning snapped.  Also for the Indians: Corey Kersey and Trevor Moore with eight points each, and Brock Aleshire two points.

Neoga ends its season with a 16-13 record.

Dieterich, meanwhile, will play Wednesday night at 7:00 against Patoka.  We'll broadcast the game on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com.  Patoka won the Mulberry Grove Regional Friday, defeating Odin 68-61.

Tickets for Wednesday's game will be sold at the door Wednesday night.  Doors will open at 5:45pm. There will be two ticket lines; one line for exact change only and another for those who don't have exact change.  All tickets are $5.00.
