Cubs, White Sox Enter First Week Of Spring Training Games

The Cubs have a few days of team workouts this week in Mesa, Arizona. On Thursday they open the stadium at their new spring training facility to face the Arizona Diamondbacks. The White Sox are working out in Glendale, Arizona. The Sox open the spring training on Friday against their facility-mates at Camelback Ranch, the Los Angeles Dodgers.


Cards Add Arms To Spring Roster

(Jupiter, FL) -- The St. Louis Cardinals have added pitchers Kurt Heyer and Boone Whiting to the spring training roster. Jaime [Garcia is shut down and will have an MRI on his shoulder while Jose Almarante is stuck in the Caribbean due to visa issues. Heyer was 9-and-7 with a 3.41 ERA in 23 games last season in the lower minor leagues while Whiting was 8-7 with a 3.83 in 27 starts with Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis.
