Junior High Baseball Roundup -- August 26

The Effingham Junior High School Mustangs baseball team defeated Salem 7-6 Monday.  Bryce Lohman was the winning pitcher and Alec Morrissey earned the save.

Mason Hull hit triples and had two RBI while Ryan Sandifer added two singles and two RBI. Dylan Bushur added a triple and Bryce Lohman had an RBI. Effingham improves its record to 5-1 and travels to Flora today for a 4:30 p.m. game.

 

At Oblong

St. Anthony had two big innings in downing Oblong 15-1. The Bullpups tallied six runs in the fifth and seven in the eighth.

St. Anthony had 16 hits led by Utz with a double, grand slam home run and six RBI, Nuxoll with three singles and an RBI, Heuerman with two singles, a double and an RBI and Seachrist with two singles and an RBI.

The Bullpups improved to 4-2.

At Dieterich

Neoga came calling at Dieterich and handed the host junior high baseball squad a 12-5 defeat Monday evening.

Neoga stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead. The two teams were tied at 4-4 after three innings. Neoga then had a three-run sixth and a five-run seventh.

Drew Ramert led the winners with two singles and a double. Dieterich was led by Thoele with a double.

Dieterich drops to 2-2 on the season.

Sigel St. Michael picked up a 10-6 victory over Beecher City. Kreke was the winning pitcher while Nick Miller suffered the loss.

 

At Sandoval

North Clay (Louisville) blanked Sandoval 11-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

North Clay had eight hits led by Q. Aldrich with two home runs and seven RBI. E. Burkett had a single, double and an RBI. Barbee pitched the one-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Altamont trailed Shelbyville 2-1 until the fifth then tied the score and tallied five runs in the sixth for a 7-4 victory.

Jordan Black picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts. Reardon had three singles and an RBI while Brown had three singles and two RBI. Black added two singles and an RBI.
