Shelby County's Luke Hatfield Hits Two Grand Slams In Same Inning

ARTHUR -- Luke Hatfield couldn't have foreseen what a great day he was going to have at the plate for Shelby County Legion Posts 289/611/725 Tuesday evening, but he's probably going to remember that day for a very long time.
Hatfield stepped to the plate in the third inning and banged out two grand slam home runs as Shelby County scored 14 runs and ended the game early by the 10-run count, 18-5 over Moultrie-Douglas.
Hatfield also added a solo shot as he went three-for-four at the plate and finished with a whopping nine RBI in the contest.
Shelby County had 16 hits in the game. Hayden Cole had two singles and Gunner Thies had two singles and drove in two runs.
Shelby County improves to 15-7 and travels to Odin for a doubleheader Friday before heading to Effingham St. Anthony Saturday for a 1 p.m. twinbill.
