Shelby County Captures Doubleheader Over Macon County

Shelby County Posts 289-611-725 captured a baseball doubleheader victory over Macon County during weekend action.
Shelby County won 10-4 and 8-7. Shelby County edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead before Macon County tied and took a 4-3 lead in the third. Shelby County then came roaring back with four runs in the fourth and added on three more runs for the 10-4 win.
Shelby County had eight hits in the contest led by Christian Vonderheide with a single, double, home run and two RBI and Hayden Cole with a double and two RBI. Ben Helton pitched an eight-hitter with no walks and three strikeouts.
In the 8-7 victory, Shelby County held an 8-4 lead after five innings before Macon County mounted a comeback with three runs in the sixth but fell short.
Luke Hatfield led the winners with two singles, a home run and four RBI. Jake Keown picked up the pitching win while Gunner Theis had the save.
