Shelby County Claims One Win, Suffers Two Losses

Shelby County Posts 289/611/724 fell to Rantoul Post 287 in a doubleheader but picked up a victory over Piatt County Legion during weekend action.

Shelby County dropped 12-7 and 8-0 losses to Rantoul. Despite having 12 hits, Shelby County lost 12-7.

Breaking a 1-1 tie in the second inning, Rantoul had a five-run second to pull ahead. Shelby County came back but Rantoul had another five-run inning in the fifth.

Gunner Theis had two singles, a double and two RBI for Shelby County while Hayden Cole had a single, double and two RBI and Neil Yockey a single, double and an RBI.

In the second game, Rantoul blanked Shelby County. Shelby County had four hits in the contest led by Yockey with two singles.

In a game against Piatt County, Aaron White pitched a no-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts. Shelby County took a 1-0 lead in the sixth and tacked on another run in the seventh for a 2-0 win.

Cole had a double and drove in a run while Michael Baker had a single and drove in the other run. Andrew Hawkins had two singles.
