ST. ELMO -- St. Elmo's Connor Beasley pitched a four-hitter with three walks and a whopping 15 strikeouts as the Eagles defeated Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 8-2.

BCCH edged out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth but St. Elmo came roaring back with a seven-run bottom of the frame. Levi Maxey provided the firepower for the Eagles with a single and a grand slam home run. Dalton Parks had two singles and an RBI and Nick Bauer a double and an RBI.

Blake McKay led BCCH with a single and a double.

St. Elmo improves to 6-5 and is back in action Monday against BCCH again.

At Greenup

Oblong claimed a Little Illini Conference victory over Cumberland, 14-11.

The Pirates took a 6-1 lead but Oblong tallied seven in the fourth and six in the fifth. Oblong outhit Cumberland 12-11.

Cumberland was led by Blayke Cutts with a single, home run and four RBI. Hunter Light had a single and a double while Tyler Godden had two singles, a double and four RBI.

At Altamont

North Clay (Louisville) picked up a 6-4 win over Altamont. The two squads were tied at 1-1 after one and 3-3 after two. North Clay then edged ahead with a run in the fourth but Altamont tied in the fifth. The Cardinals brought home two more runs in the sixth for the victory.

North Clay had 10 hits in the contest led by Britton and Hilderbrand with two hits each.

Altamont was led by Zielger with two hits and Scholes with a hit and an RBI. The Indians drop to 5-3 on the season.
