Three Triple-A Phillies recorded multi-hit games and the pitching staff was strong once again as the squad won its third straight defeating the Pirates 6-1 Tuesday, March 19 in Bradenton, Fla.

Leading the seven-hit attack was infielder Cody Overbeck, a former Effingham resident, who went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and outfielder Josh Field who also chipped in with two hits and two RBIs. Rightfielder Troy Hanzawa went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored, while catcher Tommy Joseph launched a home run.

Overbeck, who also scored a run, is a Lehigh Valley veteran after spending all of 2012 with the team and part of 2011. In the 2012 campaign, the corner infielder led the team with 14 home runs and set a franchise single-season record with 133 games played. Originally selected by the Phillies in the ninth round of the 2008 draft, the University of Mississippi product has cracked 20 home runs and driven in 97 in his Triple-A career. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Overbeck.
