The St. Louis Cardinals stunned the Atlanta Braves by scoring four runs in the ninth and then held off a rally in the bottom of the inning to take Game 1 of the NL Division Series last night by a final of 7-6.

Thursday night’s loss in Game 1 of the NL Division Series was especially costly for the Atlanta Braves as reliever Chris Martin left the game while warming up when he injured his left oblique. Martin is expected to miss the rest of the series.

Dodgers Blank Nationals

The Los Angeles Dodgers blanked the Washington Nationals 6-0 in the opening game of their National League Division Series. Dodgers’ starter Walker Buehler allowed just one hit in six innings of work.

Mets Fire Mickey Callaway

Another Major League Baseball manager is out of work as the New York Mets have fired Mickey Callaway. Callaway had a year remaining on his three-year contract and had a record of 163-161 as manager.
