Effingham St. Anthony took the early lead and went on for an 11-0 win over Neoga in five innings of baseball action Wednesday.

The Bulldogs pushed into a 5-0 opening inning lead and had a five-run third. Blake Niebrugge went four innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out six. Logan Antrim came on to finish the contest allowing no hits, no walks and striking out two.

St. Anthony had 10 hits led by Collin Koester with a single and double, Jack Hoene had two singles and two RBI and Davis Tingley added a double. The Bulldogs are now 18-4 on the season.

Neoga was led by Adam Fearday and Luke Romack with a single each.

At St. Anthony

At Altamont

Vandalia edged Altamont 4-3 in action Wednesday.

The Indians held a 1-0 first inning lead and led 3-0 until the top of the sixth when the Vandals tallied three runs to tie. Vandalia then won in the top of the seventh.

Vandalia had eight hits while Altamont had seven.

The Indians were led by Dawson Guerrettaz with a single, double and an RBI and Sebastin Thompson with two singles.

Cumberland picked up a 19-1 win over Martinsville in five innings Wednesday.

The Pirates had a 12-run fourth inning after leading 7-1. Cumberland had 14 hits led by Brennyn Cutts and Michael Flier with a single, double and four RBI each. Alex Talley added a single, double and three RBI.
