Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School claimed the championship of its own Class 1A Baseball Regional Monday.

The Bullpups pounded Dieterich to the tune of 21-11.  St. Anthony ran off to a 10-2 opening inning lead and never looked back.

St. Anthony had 19 hits led by Will Hoene with four singles, a double and seven RBI, Eli Levitt with two singles, a double and four RBI, Connor Wines with a single, triple and an RBI, Michael Martelli with two singles, a double and four RBi and Griffin Sehy with a single, double and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by P. Britton with two singles, a double and an RBI, N. Dill with two singles, a double and five RBI and G. Niebrugge with three singles.

St. Anthony now advances to its own sectional scheduled for Saturday and will face Neoga at 11 a.m.

Neoga blanked Villa Grove 2-0 in its own regional Monday.

Brady Reynolds picked up the pitching win on a five hitert with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Devonn Kingery had two hits for the winners.

Class 2A

Stewardson-Strasburg captured the championship of the Shelbyville Moulton Regional.

Stew-Stras downed South Central, 5-3.

Teutopolis was a winner in the Casey-Westfield Regional. The Wooden Shoes blanked Lawrenceville Parkview, 10-0.

T-town had a four-run third and a four-run fourth then tallied two more to end the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.

C. Siemer threw a no-hitter over the five innings, allowing one walk and striking out four.

J. Neibrugge had a single, a home run and an RBI while D. Niemerg had a single, double and two  RBI, C. Siemer two singles and an RBI, C. Siemer two singles and two RBI, T. Schwerdt a double and an RBI and Roepke a single and three RBI.

T-town and  Stew-Stras will now meet for the Teutopolis Sectional Saturday at 11 a.m.

Class 3A

Jasper County edged Effingham 4-3 in the Class 3A Greenville Regional championship game Monday.

Issac Flowers picked up the pitching win. Dalton Baltzell had a single and triple while Flowers had a single.

Effingham was led by Hull and Wolfe with two singles each. Maxedon had a double.

Jasper County advances with a 14-2 record to the Greenville Sectional and will face Edwardsville Liberty at 11 a.m. Saturday.

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran handed St. Paul an 11-1 regular season loss Monday in six innings.

Lutheran opened with a 3-0 first inning then added on two in the second, third and fifth innings and one run in the fourth and sixth.

Mason Robinson had two doubles and drove in two runs for the winners while Lucas Shepard had two singles and two RBI and Aden McManaway two singles and an RBI.

Altamont Lutheran finished with 13 stolen bases in the contest.
