St. Anthony, Dieterich Claim Baseball Wins

Effingham St. Anthony High School ran off a 5-0 first inning lead and went on to beat Odin/Patoka, 9-1 in baseball action Wednesday.

The Bulldogs were on fire from the hitting range, knocking out six doubles and finishing with 14 hits in the game.

Colin Koester had two singles, a double and two RBI while Hunter Stephens had two doubles and an RBI. Blake Niebrugge chipped in with a single, double and an RBI. Kaden Fearday had a double and an RBI, Bryson Wall a double and Davis Tingley two singles and an RBI.

Dylan Guy went four innings allowing no hits, one walk and striking out three for the pitching win. Koester came on to finish out the final three innings, allowing three hits, one run, one walk and striking out four.

The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 on the season.

Dieterich came calling, tallied four runs in the fourth and two in the sixth for a 6-0 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Wednesday.

C. Niebrugge picked up the pitching win. He went six innigns, allowing one hit, no walks and struck out 11. D. Will came on in the final ining, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out three.

E. Bohnhoff had as ingle and double while  C. Gephart had two singels and two RBI.

The lone hit for Windsor/Stew-Stras was a single by  S. Vonderheide.
