Shoes Claim Victory, Dieterich Nabs Win

ALTAMONT -- Teutopolis High School claimed a baseball victory over Altamont Monday.

The Wooden Shoes edged the Indians 2-1 in the opener behind an 11-hit attack.

The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning. Alek Biggs had an RBI single.

But the Shoes came back in the sixth to tie the score and then win it with a run in the top of the seventh. Trenton Schwerdt had a single, double and drove in one run while Luke Ungrund had a single and drove in another run. Tyler Runde, Dawson Smith and Brock Deters chipped in with two singles each.

Clint Weber came on in the fifth to throw three innings for the Shoes, allowing three hits, one run and two walks for the win.

T-town improves to 2-1 while Altamont drops to 0-2.

In the second contest, the two teams went only four innings. T-town held a 4-0 lead behind four hits.

The Shoes took a 1-0 first inning lead. Wermert had a double for the Shoes while Bushur had two singles.

Robbins had the lone hit for the Indians with a single.

At Dieterich

Dieterich pounded Ramsey to the tune of 15-5 in five innings Monday.

The Movin' Maroons had 14 hits in the contest. E. Bohnhoff led the way with two singles, a double and four RBI while C. Niebrugge had two singles and a double. L. Hall had a single, double and three RBI and C. Gephart two singles.

C. Niebrugge picked up the pitching win going four innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out nine.

At Odin

Odin/Patoka tallied a 10-5 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo in action Monday.

Odin/Patoka took a 4-2 opening inning lead and had two-run innings in the fourth and fifth.

BSE had eight hits in the contest led by Bryton Pruett with two singles and a double, Jace McWhorter with a single, home run and two RBI and Caleb Atwood with a double and an RBI. BSE drops to 0-2.

Odin/Patoka improved to 3-0.
