CHICAGO -- Jon Lester did it all Monday as the Chicago Cubs beat the New York Mets, 7-4.

Lester went six innings on the mound but ended up without a decision after the Mets tied the contest. However, it was Lester's defense and his bat that amazed Cubs fans.

Lester came up with some big plays snagging a ball that was a shot hit back at him. He ended up on the ground but had the ball in his glove. He then went to bat in the third inning with the Cubs behind 2-1. Javier Baez led off the inning with a double and came home on a wild pitch. Willson Contreras singled and Kyle Schwarber was intentionally walked to load the bases with Lester up to bat. He then came through with a single that drove in two runs, giving the Cubs a 4-3 lead.

The Cubs finished with 14 hits in the game led by Anthony Rizzo with a single, double and a solo homer in the eighth that broke a 4-4 tie. He finished with two RBI. Baez had a single and double and Ben Zobrist a single, double and an RBI.

Giants, Beckham Agree to Extension

The New York Giants and Odell Beckham Jr. have agreed to a five-year, $95 million contract extension. Under the deal, $65 million is guaranteed and it makes Beckham the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
