Green, Winkler Still Going Strong in Major Leagues

Effingham High School graduate, Chad Green, in the last seven days, has thrown 3.2 innings for the New York Yankees.

Green, a relief pitcher, allowed two earned runs, no walks and struck out two. In August he has an ERA of 3.52.

During this season so far, Green has throw in 48 games, 57 innings, allowing 50 hits and 19 runs, 18 of those earned. He has allowed 11 walks and struck out 67. He has a 5-2 record.

Dan Winkler, a St. Anthony graduate, is pitching for the Atlanta Braves.

In the last seven days he has thrown 1.2 innings, allowed one hit, two walks and struck out four. In August he has gone six innings, allowing five hits, three walks and striking out nine.

During this season so far, Winkler has thrown in 53 games, 49.1 innings, allowed 39 hits and 18 runs, 15 of those earned. He has allowed 14 walks and struck out 62. He has a 2-0 record.
